the search is over

Long live the dungaree. That genius bit of clothing that is both multi functional and currently right on trend.

But try and find a decent pair? It’s been a search bigger than a Challenge Anneka (if I’m old enough to remember it maybe I shouldn’t be wearing them?) and I’ve tried on that many pairs I almost gave up hope.

Then I roamed onto the New Look website. It’s a store that I’ve fallen in and out of love with depending on the designs and quality of each season’s collection. New Look are on to some winners at the moment.

Current favourites include their [ bloggers favourite ] denim trench coat, lace slip dress and their leather boots. However it’s their dungarees that I can’t stop raving about.

Every body is different and with all the range of styles, different people will want a different look. A wide leg, a skinny leg, ripped and distressed, or with neat turn ups. But for me, New Look’s skinny leg black denim dungarees (£29.99) has the perfect fit, length and style. For those who like a good skinny jean, these are great. And for those who regularly can be seen wiggling and pulling up their favourite skinnies, dungarees solve that issue as they hold themselves up. Problem solved.

New Look / key piece capsule wardrobe

It’s an all round wardrobe staple. A ‘comfort blanket’ item of clothing that is a go-to safe piece that goes with everything, dress up, dress down, it’s versatility is well needed at this time of year with the changing weather plus it can be adapted for a great day to night outfit too.

Daytime wear with a ribbed turtle neck or Breton t-shirt, and sling over a slouchy cardigan for warmth with roll ups and a good pair of Stan Smiths or try New Look’s snake skin style sneaker for a great affordable equivalent (£17.99)

By night switch up with an H&M lace blouse and healed ankle boots. Office as usual lead with a huge range of quality footwear, ensuring you’ll be stuck for choice with their ankle boot selection.

Roll up, roll up!

If you like the idea of dungarees but just feel the look is a step to far towards a farming life style, try  a dress version instead. Still on trend but more feminine plus equally great as a versatile day to night piece. Try Topshop, Miss Selfridge or H&M
